That’s right. Like boxing , everyone wants to be undefeated, this game doesn’t work like that!

Encouraging for South Carolina bettors is that the team has been playing the same kind of ball it used to down the Gators in their two regular-season meetings. The Gamecocks grabbed a dozen offensive rebounds to earn a pile of second-chance points in the Jan. 25 encounter, a 68-62 decision for USC at +4.
They used a barrage from the perimeter (10-of-21 3-point shooting) to get to the pay window in the Feb. 8 meeting, beating UF 71-67 on the Gators home court as 11 ½-point dogs.
South Carolina continues to be strong on the offensive glass in the postseason and shot 41.7 percent from 3-point range in the semifinal. On top of that, their defense continues to be tight. The Vols couldn’t establish any offensive rhythm until a late surge brought them to within eight of the Gamecocks. They trailed 72-57 at the 1:30 mark. USC also held Kentucky 10 points below its average output.
The Gators head into this tilt with their guns blazing. Taurean Green drained 20 points and Lee Humphrey had a career-high 25 in their 74-71 win over Arkansas as 3-point dogs in the quarterfinals while three players drained heavy double figures against LSU Saturday. They beat the Tigers 71-62 at –6. Florida shot 48.5 percent in those postseason tilts and hasn’t failed to score into the 70s in nine straight games.
That hasn’t translated into much ATS success. The Gators` payout over LSU was only the second in seven games and offense won’t get it to the pay window against South Carolina. The Gamecocks will likely employ a pressure defense along with bruising man-to-man to keep the pace slow in the championship. Gators opponents have used those tactics with limited success, but they’ll likely prove much more effective in this late stage of the tourney.
One discouraging note for Florida bettors is that its attack has been much less balanced in the postseason. After having all five starters average double figures all season, the majority of the scoring has come from two or three players in this tourney. Meanwhile, South Carolina’s offense has become much more of a team effort, registering 50 assists on its 76 postseason field goals.
The Gators can improve their NCAA resume with a title victory, but the stakes are much higher for South Carolina. The only way the Gamecocks will get into the Dance is as the SEC tournament champions.
"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.
