Bradley is gaining strength hitting the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in peak form. The Braves have won five straight and nine of their last 11 to move up to the fifth spot in the ultra-competitive league. The Braves' run is due largely to the improved play in the low-post from center Patrick O'Bryant and forward Marcellus Sommerville. In the regular season finale against Drake, Sommerville led the way with 30 points in an 86-66 rout.
While the Creighton Blue Jays are the higher seed (No. 4), they did not finish strong in the regular season, losing three of their last five to drop into a tie for second place. Injuries may finally be taking a toll on Creighton and they have shown an inability to consistently win away from home (5-7 record).
