Thursday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but.........
        13) Luke Ridnour gets invited to the '08 Olympic Trials, Allen Iverson doesn't. It pays to go to college in the same state that houses Nike.

        12) We said we wouldn't write much about NFL labor stuff, but the sides are 4% apart, and neither side will budge from there. To me, this means you compromise in the middle, each side giving in 2% more. Do you need a law degree to figure this out?

        11) In other words, there are no poor people in the NFL. Why try to fix what isn't broken? Greed, thats why.

        10) If you like baseball, the Asian part of the World Baseball Classic is on ESPN Thursday, with Korea-Taipei at 9:30, and China-Japan at 4:30am Friday. Make that if you love baseball

        9) Rutgers is buying Gary Waters out of last four years of his contract, at rate of $125,000 a year. I wish someone would give me half a million to go away.

        8) If the Missouri Valley gets four teams in NCAAs, Colonial better get two; they have four teams with 21+ wins; George Mason went to Wichita and won two weeks ago. The CAA tournament will be one of fun ones this coming weekend.

        7) The maximum amount of moves in a chess game is 5,949.

        6) Underrated fact: Rams and Colts were once traded for each other. Robert Irsay bought the Rams from the estate of Daniel Reeves, then traded them to Carroll Rosenbloom, who married a former showgirl named Georgia, who still owns the Rams. Son Jim Irsay still runs the Colts.

        5) Florida State, Texas A&M, Kentucky helped themselves in big way Wednesday, with upset wins. Have to think Florida State and Kentucky are in; still not sold on Aggies; they play a bad non-conference schedule.

        4) The grandmother of Kentucky player Robbie Moss turned 98 yesterday, so we congratulate her on that accomplishment.

        3) Clippers held Hornets to 17 second half points, lowest ever since the shot clock was put in. New Orleans led 59-49, then went over a full quarter of game time before they scored again missing 20 consecutive shots from the floor.

        2) "Strength does not come from physical capacity, but from an insurmountable will." Gandhi said that, and it fits into this month of great efforts by many teams.

        1) As if to underline that March Madness is upon us, dogs went 24-13 against the spread on March 1, in college hoops.
