Tuesday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but.................
        13) March Madness starts a day early, as conference tourney action starts tonight in three leagues: Ohio Valley, Big South and Horizon Leagues. March is one of the best months, lot of fun, and we get a head start on that tonight.

        12) A civil war among NFL owners is underway, with owners with the newer stadiums and higher incomes not wanting to share their money with the other teams. Revenue sharing is what made the NFL what it is today, but greed is overtaking the ownership group, and that isn't good.

        11) The new collective bargaining agreement can't happen if the owners don't come to an agreement amongst themselves.

        10) Free agency starts Friday; looks like Arizona, Minnesota, Green Bay and Cleveland have the most money to spend.

        9) Think how great golf is: Stephen Ames played 10 holes in first round of Match Play Wednesday, lost the first nine, tied the 10th, and pocketed $35,000 before skulking away.

        8) Geoff Ogilvy won the tournament, made $1.3M, but there were 10 putts during weekend, if they hadn't gone Ogilvy's way, either made or missed, he would have been eliminated.

        7) Adam Morrison is very Bird-like; if that comparison isn't fair, I apologize, but he is single-handedly carrying Gonzaga, whose other players are sagging somewhat down the stretch. I look for the Bulldogs to win no more than one NCAA game.

        6) Another son is replacing his dad as coach; Tony Bennett will be the new coach at Washington State, replacing his dad Dick, who will retire after a terrific career. Hopefully, younger Bennett will quicken the Coogs' pace a little bit.

        5) If the season ended as I type this, Louisville wouldn't be in the Big East tournament. Big East needs to include all sixteen teams in their conference tournament.

        4) I'd be nervous if I were in the Big East, and not one of the top eight teams; it might be tough for them to get nine or ten.

        3) Texas is the hardest team for me to figure; they lost by 21 at Oklahoma State, Duke killed them, but they beat Villanova, beat Memphis and crushed most everyone else. They just do not play many close games.

        2) Nice moment at Senior Night at West Virginia Monday, as they played German national anthem to honor Joe Herber, a senior forward who is from Germany. Five seniors are a great story for Mountaineers, one of the best teams to watch- they came in with Coach Beilein and have won ton of games.

        1) Tennessee fired Buzz Peterson, hired Bruce Pearl, and took off in SEC, but Buzz has had great year too; his Chanticleers at Coastal Carolina are 18-9, 12-4 in Big South, and have legit shot to reach the Field of 65. Buzz is good guy; we're happy for him.
