In my many meetings of the mind with fellow serious handicappers we discuss and debate how recent versus overall performance is properly weighted. There is both the generic discussion or as Houston proves sometimes it’s a case by case basis.
The Rockets have had more than their share of injuries, but now that they are healthy it’s no shock they’ve been playing their best hoops of the year. They are 10-2 SU their last 12.
Heading the list of reasons Houston is playing better hoops is Yao Ming. Yao is averaging 21.3 points and 10.8 rebounds over the last 12 games, including eight double-doubles.
Houston’s recent play is much more indicative of the quality of talent they have. Tonight’s spread is not.Comment
