NBA Finals Thoughts

Hmmm... wonder how many will think I'm biased in this analysis??? :confused:

I have been saying this since the playoffs began... The Nets have problems with teams that spread the floor and shoot the outside jumper well from all 5 positions. The two teams in this playoffs I feared most... Milwaukee and Dallas The Nets have problems matching up with teams that have dominant Centers and shooting guards as well. The Lakers would probably sweep us again as well.

There are 2 teams out of the west that the Nets match up well with. The first was Sacramento, the other San Antonio. Why. believe it or not because of Tim Duncan and Chris Webber. No two players have more of that "Please not me" look on their faces down the stretch of close games. Plus, both would be guarded by the underrated defensive 4 in the league, Kenyon Martin. Where as Sacramento has more supporting players for their #4 when he doesn't want it in crunch time... San Antonio has nobody I fear.

With all that said, I still believe all of these factors to be true, along with the fact that San Antonio has been collectively AWFUL in the 4thQ, where the Nets have been superb. That coupled with shatty free throw shooting by the Spurs can only lead me to one prediction.

NJ Nets in 6.

GOOD LUCK Jim and since my Celtics are not in it i really don't have a rooting interest for or against either team, and it's a nice change not to see L.A. there, but it is crazy waiting this many days for the series to start...... I almost forgot about basketball.:D

I like the Nets plus the points as well. I'll make it an official play later with my other plays.

I think that you guys are forgetting who the best player in the NBA is. I can not see anyone stopping Duncan. A quick description:

Up Front

K-Mart can bang but is undersized. Duncan will have his his way unless he is dou ble teamed.

NJ's center will be guarding David. Once Rose comes into the game, he will be too quick for them.

Bowen can D up and I think Jefferson will struggle a bit. This could be the key to the series.

Mutombo??? I only hope they bring him in becasue he can not catch the ball and hasn't played on a regular basis for quite some time. If he sees action, that tells me that the Nets do not think they can win the series because they will be going against what got them this far.

Advantage - Huge Edge to Spurs

Back Court

Parker and Jackson are inexperienced but very talented. Parker has been doing it against all the odds everyone throwing at him and I think he will be clutch in this series.

Kidd and Kittles. Kittles has talent and can be streaky. Kidd is the best guard in the NBA and is a triple double waiting to happen.
The Nets will try to run with these 2 pushing it every chance they get.

Advantage - Slight edge to Nets.

Bench

Lucuis Harris is inconsistent and I already discussed Mutombo. Rodney Rodgers will still be eating cheeseburgers during warm ups, so he will not be a factor. I thought he was the man at Wake.

Rose, Willis, Claxton ( he sucks ), and Giniboli will be the key. If they double Duncan, these guys can and will beat you. Just ask the Lakers and Mavs.

Advantage - Spurs

A lot of people are taking the Nets for the series. I am not. Spurs in 6.
