  • How this new Gambling Bill will try to kill internet gambling....

The IGPA, first introduced in the Senate in 1999, would establish a blanket prohibition on Internet gambling and restrict legalized online gambling to "closed-loop, subscriber-based systems" operating in states where certain types of gambling are legal. Internet service providers would be protected from liability and from the requirement to keep an eye on their own systems for illegal gambling activity, provided they respond quickly to court orders mandating the removal of access to gambling sites.

Who's going to stop the government from censoring, for the first time in history, the internet? They want to make it so you can't even visit certain websites.

Nice country I live in LOL....

            Ok, Chuck

Why are you blaming Bush for this bill----it's Kyl, McCain and a few others pushing it----and did you object when the Chinese took over operations at several American ports during the Clinton administration?

(I know this is going to be moved but I didn't start it....LOL)

Get a grip Chuck- there's plenty of room for disagreement and discussion but ridiculous statements like "killing our kids" immediately "kill" your argument.

TE...My brothers best friend who strongly disagreed with the war yet, being a marine vowing to save our country was killed in Iraq by informants...Why are our troops still there in Iraq if he would have moved them out after saddam was killed and a leader was chosen, many marines lives would be spared

Some of you guys are rigoddamndiculous and these threads only lead to bitter arguments that do no good. I'll stop my part here by saying I am from a military family and a military town. I don't give a damn how many people you know down the street, it doesn't make you an expert on this subject. Until we see this shit for what it really it is ( a world war ), we won't do what it takes to end it.

With that said, good luck tonight!

I swear, Bush bashers can't control themselves. Casheasy's post is about a gambling bill in the senate and guys are commenting about Bush's policy in Iraq.

(I predict the thread is moved any minute now.............._)

Im not bashing bush by any means...bush IMO has had one of the toughest entries into becoming a president with 9/11 and so on, he has stablized the terrorism factor since then..I commend him for that..But theres always people with different opinions and views no need for arguing, that wont change anyones opinion...
ON this bill, I think its a very dumb bill obviously because if this is put through then we will see bills countering internet porn AND internet forums where people voice opinions...I just hope we dont have a FCC for the internet that would ruin the US basically destroying the 1st amendment

LOL I had no idea this thread would turn into a Bush thread. As Griswold pointed out, this was about the Goodlatte and Leach bills that threaten to turn our country back to the stone age.

all republician senators that have started these internet bills and thats because they want to make us go spend our money in all the indian casinos, which they are getting their huge kick backs from.
Why dont you think they dont just legalize it and collect the taxes from it? because the corrupt politicians cant get money kicked back to them that way. But if they ban internet gambling, alot of gamblers might start spending their money in the indian casinos that they are behind.
You got to see thru trees to actually see what these snakes are up to.
Read the bill and you will see that if this bill is passed, indian tribal enforcement will have the powers to help regular law enforcement enforce this ban. Since when the frigg did indians all of a sudden get the power to become law enforcement agents in this country? Its to protect their interests, thats why. Read the bill its in there.
Damn republician senators got nothing better to worry about then trying to figure out ways to line their greasy corrupt pockets. Hope they all rot in hell someday.

"Hope they all rot in hell someday." I rest my case. You wonder why Republicans have continually gained seats. I suppose Ted Kennedy & his crew will cruise right on by the crooked Republicans into heaven. I worry more about statements like that harming our country than anything else.
