In answer toour question, for 34 years I was one of those lazy, good for nothing state employees in Mass.
I worked for Transitional Assistance, better know as welfare, and for the last 23 of those years I worked as a Quality Control Specialist, which involved gathering stats on welfare clients for the government and doing intense investigation on welfare recipients who were randomly suspected by a computer to see if they were eligible for benefits(usually food stamps) and that they were receiving the correct amount of benefits
My latter function was important because the percentage of cases in error had to be below a certain tolerance level in order for the state to receive federal reimbursement.
I hope that is not too confusing.
It was a great job, but it is an even better "job" being retired and free as a bird.

It's funny b/c I always thought that the West Coast would suck for games.
I guess us East Coasters miss the Pac 10 games, but who cares? There are about 3 good teams on that side of the country. 90% of the relevant teams/games (ACC, SEC, Big East, Big Twelve, Big Ten, etc) are at a perfect time on the East.
On the left coast, all the 7:00 games (east coast time) would start at 4:00 out there. I'm at work at 4:00 and blocked from gambling sites. Therefor I would never get to bet most games b/c so many start betwen 7:00 and 8:00 east coast time.
During football season it would suck even worse in my opinon of the left coast. I couldn't imagine having to wake up by 9:00 am to watch games.
