If you've never been to Vegas, you need to stay at a hotel on the strip, centrally located if pssible. From there you can go to the others and play the tables or sportsbooks. See as much as you can......
Do Not.....I repeat DO NOT play anywhere with the intentions of gaining comps. It is a sure fire way to losing. Losing a thousand to get a free $129 room is STUPID!!!!!
Go to a nice restaurant, eat a a buffet and drink drink drink.
There's great nightclubs all over the place.Remember the three R's:
Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

Depends onwat you want...if you are under 40 and want to have fun and be where the young and beautiful go, then stay at the Hard Rock, The Palms or, for a little older crowd, Mandalay Bay (these places tend to be pricey). If you are going to just gamble, stay on the strip. Just about every hotel has a great club or two as well as a great restaurant or two. Nightlife and dining is off the hook! If you are going on the cheap, definatley stay somewhere on the strip as you will spend very little time in your room and you can walk everywhere.Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

Love the poker room at the Mirage. Stay and played there in Oct. Going back again for March Madness but staying at TI. Also, Caesar's opened up their massive poker room in December. Other than that, just go everywhere, see everything, and try everything!O..H.........I..O!

I just got back over a week ago. Spent time down there with family that lives about 50 miles west of the city. If you get a car and want to see some nice views of the mountains take a ride out Blue Diamond Rd. / 160 West. Stay on 160 for up to 30 miles or so and you will see a nice view going up and down the mountians. Be careful though its a deadly road if you aren't careful. We saw the patrol pulling out a guy from the mountains that crashed his croch rocket. I was also out Red Rock Canyon years ago and it was decent to spend some time at. 160 also passed through part of Red Rock.
As for gambling, I suggest only playing at the tables, it's more fun and you get to meet some cool people. While playing blackjack I would get a shot and beer avery time, until I was drunk and worries I might do something I regretted. Also maybe if you want to sit at a casino bar to watch a game while playing some small change vid-poker. I actually hit 4 Aces on one just 10 minutes or so after sitting down for a quick $200; just to watch some of the game that was on and have a couple drinks. Always put some cash in the bar poker game prior to ordering a drink because if you have credits in, drinks are free.
Have fun there and as always - Good Luck!
