  • Opinion from a Red Sox fan

The more I think about it the more I believe that Sox seriously blundered when they did not trade Hillenbrand and Fossum for Bartolo Colon;instead they got a big question mark in Kim for Hillenbrand only.
I don't feel Fossum has really ever shown anything, he was awful in spring training, and if they really wanted to move Hillenbrand, they should have done it and got a real good proven pitcher in Colon.
I also feel GM Theo Epstein, at age of 27, is too young to be at the helm and think it would have been better to put him in a secondary position to someone older and more experienced not just in baseball but in life in general(granted I am looking at it from my perspective, as I am much older than Theo).
You cannot run for President until you are 35, and you might think I am crazy but from my perspective that should be requirement for being a GM also;the older you get the wiser you should become and therefore better decisions.

My take on your teams future hinges on what they do between June 3 to 5 th [ very soon ] , sitting fairly pretty in the amateur draft this year [ 4 picks in the top 55 ] . #17 , #32 , #50 , #55 if they go after some young arms such as , Adam Loewen a lefty and Kyle Sleeth a righty with thier early picks there could be some brite spots in the future and leave no doubt , they need pitching in a bad way !

Your team is not a very young one , but thier sticks are in order and thier pitching is not , they do have a prospect or two in the minors but nothing to write home about , so we will see in a short-short where they want to go ????

            Stay tuned !

Thought the trade was decent for them as they get another arm.
I also believe that something wasn't right with Hildebrand because they have been trying to trade this guy for quite some time. Does that mean that he was hard to get along with? Only the insiders (whether they are 27 or 57) would know.

Only time will tell on this one.
Someone familiar with Diamondbacks said last night on Fox Sports Radio that Kim is unhittable when he is right.

Memphis-appreciate your opinion and thanks for lowdown on the draft.

The trade is done. Boston's pitching is ranked 26th out of 30 teams.
                  Lets hope for the best.

                    Byung-Hyun Kim 1 IP 3 Hits 2 ER a Wild Pitch and 2 K's

Nothing to be proud of as the Sox have given up 11,10,13,6, and 11 Runs in their past 5 games, an average of 10.2 a game........Something has to change.
