LOS ANGELES, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Super Bowl betting rose to $94.5 million in Nevada this year, but casinos in the state kept a smaller share of the total, the state's Gaming Control Board said on Tuesday.
Nevada casinos won $8.8 million in wagers on the Feb. 5 contest between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks, won by the Steelers 21-to-10. Last year, the casinos posted $15.4 million in winnings from bets totaling $90.8 million.
In the last 10 years, the casinos' lowest take was 1998's $472,033 on $77.3 million in wagers on the game in which Denver beat Green Bay by a score of 31-to-24.
