  • A smart moneyline play?

Two years ago I made a killing in college hoops.

Last year I took the season off because stupid me got a DUI.
After the DUI, I lost my Route Sales Driver job because of a suspended driver's license. Luckily, I had a nice bankroll from my winnings (the year before) to supplement my lost job and income.

This year I'm trying to get "back in the game" with limited success. I've tried the same style of handicapping this year in college hoops that won me some nice money two years ago but I just can't seem to get in a groove.

Therefore, instead of spinning my wheels and trying to find an elusive winning streak I'm contemplating a moneyline play (or plays) that could make for a nice profitable year.

    OPINIONS NEEDED PLEASE...........

There are obviously no locks in sports betting but this could be as close as there is to a sure thing: moneyline wagers on the #1 seeded teams versus the #16 seeded teams in the NCAA tourney.

a)Would it make sense to bet the moneyline on the #1 seeded teams versus the #16 seeded teams when the big dance starts?

b)What will the odds be?.......(-2000 or -3000 or higher)??

c)Will Vegas even post a moneyline for these games?

    d)is this a smart bet or a sucker's bet?

e)Obviously, there is always a risk of losing so would a moneyline parlay of all four #1 seeded teams be the smarter play?

f)What are the $$ limits at most Vegas casinos?

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

    Sincerely,
    John D. (bennojd)

from my limited experience you can not bet moneylines where the spread is great then 15 and #1 vs #16 is going to be greater than that so i doubt its even an option
    CBB (3-4)
    NBA (0-1)

I think you would do better by betting the + ML teams, instead of laying all that juice, especially during the tourney, where there are plenty of upsets

        I wouldn't suggest this type of wagering.JMO

i wouldn't do it. laying 2000 to pick up a 100 is tough.

            I agree whole heartedly......

In thoroughbred racing the people who place large wagers on huge favorites with asperations of winning 5-10 cents on the dollar are called bridge jumpers.
This in my opinion would be the same.

bingo. if you ever caught a bad streak (like 2 losses in a row) you wouldn't be able to overcome it unless you had a HUGE bankroll.

                John

You obviously take lots of pride in your handicapping.

I know first hand ... I followed your picks 2 years ago.

Please continue to post in your normal manner and the winners will come.

Forget laying huge ML odds especially for March Madness.

Cinderella teams will eat you alive ... you lose 1 at -300 , you have to win the next 3 to break even ... then there's pressing and it can turn into a nightmare. You don't need that heartache.

Hope you come on back every day.

We need every good capper we can find , and you're one of them.

Best Regards and I hope you're back for good !

                -Neil
