  • Friday baseball..........

Went 2-1 yesterday, but lost 1.8 units because the 5 STAR on Florida went down. These are my three plays for Friday, all 3 STAR's...............

    3 STAR: Houston (-$110) @ CHICAGO
    (Wade Miller vs. Shawn Estes)

3 STAR: DETROIT (+$170) Vs. NEW YORK
    (Gary Knotts vs. Jose Contrears)

3 STAR: BALTIMORE (+$110) Vs. Texas
    (Omar Daal vs. John Thomson)

    MLB RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 41-18 (+45.30 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 52-53 (+0.00 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 36-34 (+13.62 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 19-18 (+2.82 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 148-124 (+61.74 UNITS)
    A $100 player would be up $6174.00

    Good luck,

As a Red Sox fan I would love to see it, but I doubt Detroit will win any of games against yanks this weekend.
The difference in talent level on paper of these two teams is huge, and with Georgie Porgie on players' backs, a sweep looks imminent.
As stated, I hope am wrong.

Your right. This was the Tigers best shot I believe with Contreras against Knotts who had been pitching well. Looks like the brooms will come out!

EZ-One last comment before I retire for the evening is that while I agree about Tigers this weekend not winning, sheer logic does not always prevail.
Yesterday(Thursday) was case in point when Montreal defeated Florida after losing first three games.
I have learned after many years of wagering that sometimes you have to have a shell game mentality when it come to wagering, and that is bet the least logical game for a team to win.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe all the stats pointed to Florida yesterday, with pitching matchup, etc. and even more so since Montreal had already lost the previous games with Florida with better pitching makeups for them(Montreal). If I recall, you had Florida as a selection.
To be perfectly honest I did not play the game one way or the other only because I know that at end of season when you look at one team's record against another, there will be some unexpected victories.
I believe weekend before Montreal either swept Florida or won two of three, and I just had a feeling again because of the shell game thinking that Montreal would win at least one game in the series, and as we saw, it was not the one most expected them to win.
My only point is that you know as well as I that every team no matter how good or bad they are is going to win and lose at unexpected times, and sometimes just intuition is the way to go in certain instances when to bet on or against them.
Obviously if I always knew when these instances were, I would be rich.
I am certainly not knocking your handicapping, and as we all know your 5*'s are second to none.
I am merely trying to say that intuition does have a place in handicapping.

I could not agree more, there are those times where no matter what the stats say, you have to grab your nuts and go the other way!

              Good luck Saturday,
