As far as the individual teams go , I really have no interest ... 2 Meathead Coaches, both capable of screwing up Big Time , with one having no edge over the other.
Seattle has advanced to this game by defeating two questionable opponents. I know you can only beat the teams you play, but Washington had no offense and the Panthers were badly beaten up after playing the Bears.
The Seahawks' offensive line should afford them the luxury of moving the ball , and Alexander puts up big numbers in nationally televised games.
With the extra week off, Pittsburgh should have gotten the needed rest to recover from their three grueling road trips.
This game is going to be like a home game with the Steelers fans swarming into Detroit , trying to avoid being the 1 in 20 Schmuck who buys a counterfeit ticket ( which is now a fairly accurate street statistic )
Being a true systems player I have to stick with the plan. In this game, I don't have any real significant systems active for side or total.
So Enter The Linesmaker , The Most Important Handicapping Factor ...
I was surprised that Pittsburgh was installed as the favorite , at -3, first flash. I had Seattle at -3. When in doubt , rely on the best handicapper in the world.
So If I had to pick , I'd play on Pittsburgh. No sense fighting Mr. Destiny and never fight Mr. Linesmaker. Palmer got hurt , Harper got stabbed , Shanahan called a God Awful Game. And here they are. In all fairness, they deserve to be playing on Sunday. When you're good and you're lucky at the same time , it's a very difficult combination to beat.
