  • MLB Futures Bet -- Red Sox

This looks juicy to me on Pinny.

Red Sox Under 91.5 wins (-111)

This line is the same as the line for the White Sox, who are a much better team and have both DET and KC to beat up on in the division. No moves have been made to improve the starting pitching. The Yankees will, at least initially, be healthy and Toronto has made moves that should really improve the team. This won't even be close if they don't get Crisp.

I know there are alot of Red Sox fans in the Forum. Please post any opinions or commentary.

I am not going to argue with the total wins, as I think it could go either way. However, I would point out that getting Josh Beckett was a move to improve their starting pitching IMO.

I think this would be a great bet and will probably take it myself. The redsox are a team in decline IMO! Good luck if ya play it!

AJ your crazy.....they'll get 94 wins. The pitching alone will take care of itself...if healthy pitching wise, they win 90+

As a Sox diehard since 1952(yeah-you heard it right), I would say under 91 1/2 without Manny. If he stays, I would probably pass or if forced to pick, would take over. Don't forget that Theo is back, and that is pretty big. I think it will be real close to the number one way or the other.

What position is Theo playing and where is he hitting in the line-up? I just hope he wears the gorilla suit to a game!

                      J/K Savy!

How about if Crisp has plastic surgery so that his face like exactly like that of ****** Damon. Maybe that will inspire his teammates and fans? There were/are many guys who were made over to look like Saddam Hussein;maybe it would work here.

You still have the best one-two punch in the majors with Manny and Ortiz. I think the Sox will be very good.......again! Makes for an exciting season when both Yanks and Sox are not only good but great. Hopefully, it can come down to another classic finish

Tony-Sox fans might call me a traitor, bit I think Sox's only chance is the wildcard. Yanks are simply better overall and expecially in closer role;that should not be minimized.
Hopefully though as you say it will be an exciting year for devoted fans of both teams.

Sox have a very good rotation. If they can pawn Clement on to some other sucker they should be good. It seems the Sox went with a bit of a youth movement. Good idea but I just feel witht the team and momentum they had after 2004 they should have tried to win a few more years. They should contend and win the Wildcard.
