        Wednesday's List of 13: Random mid-week thoughts.......
        13) When Seattle QB Hasselbeck was QB at Boston College, he once called his coach "a clown". The coach was current Carolina offensive coordinator Dan Henning.

        12) Here is upstate New York, there are more Steeler fans than Jet fans, and they're loyal too. Not really sure why there are so many, but if you go out on football Sunday, it is obvious.

        11) Got to love it when national anthem is played on trumpet, like the guy in Denver Sunday. For years, Cowboys had guy who played nathem on a trumpet; it just sounds very good.

        10) If NBA playoffs started today, Wizards would make it in with sub-.500 record. This shouldn't be allowed.

        9) Buffalo-Miami games should be interesting, now that Mike Mularkey is offensive coordinator for Fish, and Dick Jauron, an Ivy Leaguer (like GM Marv Levy) is the new Buffalo coach

        8) Part of reason why Kentucky, Louisville are struggling is that they ignored a Mr Kentucky, Chris Lofton, who now is a big star for Tennessee Volunteers.

        7) Indiana Pacers are only NBA team hasn't played OT game.

        6) NFL ref Ed Hochuli, the ref with bigger arms than lot of the players, was a linebacker at UTEP in early 70's.

        5) Darius Miles has worst free throw percentage (55.3%) of all the leading scorers for each NBA team. Pau Gasol is second on this list, so those are two pretty good players who don't do well from the charity stripe.

        4) Detroit Pistons are 5-0 in games decided by three points or less; Suns are 0-5, Minnesota 0-6.

        3) Darko Milicic, with 15 blocks in 123 minutes of action this year, has more blocks than any Knick other than Eddie Curry or Channing Frye. Bobcat center Primor Brezec isn't bad, but he has only 13 blocks in 1,098 minutes of play this season.

        2) Spur opponents shoot 42.6% from floor, the lowest of any teams' opponents.

        1) I'd like to see Kobe Bryant try to score 81 against team with Larry Bird, Jerry Sloan or Isiah Thomas playing against him.
