        This is a double post from Wayne's thread, but I thought it might be better suited in here...
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        "Does Seattle play in a dome?"
        "The Seahawks are a bunch of pussies."
        Wayne this is not directed at you, and I know I'm homer, but these statements are ridiculous. The Seahawks played two of the most physical defenses in the NFL in Carolina and Washington. The offense was able to move the ball on both teams. If it weren't for Jimm y Williams trying to be a hero on Special Teams the turnovers the Seahawks comitted against Washington would not have been a factor. Ask Nick Goings if the Seahawk defense is soft. The Seahawks DBs lay serious hat. Nobody knows who they are but Babineaux, Manuel, and Boulware punish receivers. In my opinion the scrub of of the DBs is Trufant.
        On offense, how can you say a team with 6 Pro Bowlers is over rated? When the Seahawks run to the left they are running behind ALL PROs in Jones, Hutchinson, and Strong. Oh yeah and the NFL MVP and another ALL PRO will be running the ball. ALL PROs are different than Pro Bowlers as they represent the single best player at their position in the NFL for the year.
        Who are the other two Pro Bowlers? They aren't starters, but they are the battery of the Seahawk offense. QB Hasselbeck and Center Tobeck. The true test will be Tobeck versus Hampton. If Hampton handles Tobeck, the Seahawks will have problems. Jones will neutralize Porter and Strong will be left in on passing downs to take care of Polamalu.
        Have the Steelers faced a tougher road the Superbowl in the playoffs? Yes. But the Seahawks, didn't choose their schedule, they didn't ask for T.O. to be a jackass and kicked off the team or Indy to rest their players. They took care of business when they needed to. They dominated the NFC and earned their easy road the Superbowl.
        I'm not saying bet the Hawks, but just understand that they are a little better team than most of the nation gives them credit for.
        Did I mention their defense had the most sacks in the NFL?
              It's the same reason I pick the CWS in every game of the World Series.....And Texas in the NCAAB Championship.....
              I've only lost 1 Super Bowl bet in 33 years of gambling...My local can attest to that.....
                Chuck, if I am a loser in life is really not the issue regarding this game.
                The Steelers are ranked fourth in total defense allowing 284 yds/gm. Yes, the Seahawks are ranked 17th giving up 316.8 yds/gm. That is a difference of 32.8 yds/gm. That doesn't really scare me.
                  The difference is when Seattle played Indy....Indy sat Peyton because they were already in the playoffs....They could have easily ended up 27th if Indy showed up that day....
                  I had Hassleback on my fantasy team last year and the year before...I didn't want him but got stuck with him both years...I had the worst QB point ratio of all the others....What makes him any different here.....You know it's going to be up to him to win it.....Something that I wouldn't want to risk $$ on...I wish all the Seahawk fans nothing but good luck.....
                  By the way this Thread is for talking Smack and that's what I'm doing....:christmas
                    I know it's all in good fun... that's why i'm continue to debate this with you. We're both set in our opinions, but let's ruffle some feathers. This thread is pretty dead considering it is the Super Bowl. But again, it probably because Seattle made it. I'll have to represent the smack talking for Seattle fans!
                            OK so here's some straight talk on what worries me about the Superbowl and to show you that I'm not looking strictly through rose colored lenses.
                            The Seahawks' special teams are pretty bad. Josh Brown can't kick into the endzone on kickoffs which results in the other team usually starting on the 35 yd line, the Seahawks' gunners get stuck on the line of scrimmage on punts, Josh Scobey has no moves and goes down on first contact on kick off returns, Peter Warrick has barely played this year and is not the same kid that came out of FSU. Special Team strenghts. Rouen is actually a pretty good punter. He just shanked one against Carolina in the NFC Championship game and now many people think he sucks. Josh Brown has a strong and fairly accurate leg for FGs.
                            All that being said Randle El scares me more than Bettis.
                            Despite these weaknesses on Special Teams, the rest of the Hawks team looks fairly solid to me.
