Tuesday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but...............
        13) The more I think about this, the more it bothers me that Toronto let Kobe Bryant torch them for 81 points Sunday, without the least amount of rough play. Lakers left him in until 0:04.3 seconds were left, in 18-point game, and they kept feeding him the ball, while Raptors played hand-in-face defense, but really did nothing to disrupt his rhythm.

Is this serious basketball or what? Someone has 63 after three quarters against my team, and I want his butt on the floor at least two or three times, so he has to consider whether it is worth it to be such a ballhog.

        12) I can't imagine that there is a rush for tickets in Buffalo today, with Dick Jauron announced as the new head coach of Bills. Nice guy, smart guy, good coach, but he is the best you could come up with? How about hiring from within?

        11) If I had anything to do with the Colts (coach, teammate, ballboy), I'd be less than happy that Mike Vanderjagt was yukking it up on Letterman last week, kicking field goals on street with Dave holding. In this day and age, Ralph Branca would toss wiffle balls on talk shows, laughing it up after he gave up the pennant-losing homer to Bobby Thomson.

        10) We interviewed Redskin OC Al Saunders in this space in summer of '04; nicest person we've interviewed. Very good coordinator, but I was stunned to hear that the Chiefs never used the same play twice in any four-game span, because he didn't want his opponents to see any of his plays on film beforehand, and teams go four games back to study film.

        9) Rams, Chiefs both know Saunders well; wonder why he didn't get a good look at one of their head coaching jobs?

        8) Odd connection between Steelers, Seahawks: Franco Harris played one season for Seattle at end of his great career. His year with Seattle was less than great.

        7) Steelers won first game ever played at Ford Field, site of the Super Bowl, a preseason game vs Lions in Jerome Bettis' hometown.

        6) Visiting team is now 5-2 in the last seven AFC title games. Weird fact, but it points to the depth of quality teams in that conference. NFC has traditionally been more home field-friendly. No idea why.

        5) Great feature by NFL Films on the junior college football team that Chad Johnson, Steve Smith played on in California, and about the respect they have for their coach.

        4) Weird seeing Oklahoma State, Syracuse getting bounced around Monday. Some of the teams that are usually powers in college hoop just aren't very good right now.

        3) Senior Bowl practices are being shown on NFL Network all week. Interesting stuff, as they show linemen going through drills, QB's learning new reads for patterns, receivers trying to get off the line, as they try and impress pro scouts.

        2) Would have liked to have been fly on wall at the Benson's house when Anna found out her husband had been traded to Baltimore this weekend.

        1) Kobe Bryant had 81 points and two assists Sunday; after watching the game, didn't know he had passed twice.
