NEW ORLEANS (Jan. 21, 2006) – University of New Orleans junior men’s basketball player Wayne Williams has left the team.
Williams’ decision came in a Saturday morning meeting with the coaching staff at which he said he did not want to play anymore and was leaving school.
“We wish Wayne the best of luck in whatever he intends to do in the future,” UNO coach Monte Towe said.
Williams, an Orlando, Fla., native, averaged 15.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 15 games this season for the Privateers
