SAN FRANCISCO (30-19) at COLORADO (23-27)

      SFO K RUETER -L (5-1, 3.08 ERA) vs COL J JENNINGS-R (3-4, 5.24 ERA)

The Giants and the Rockies wrap up their four game series in Colorado. In Sunday's game between the two teams, Greg Norton hit a two-run double and Darren Oliver pitched six shutout innings to lead Colorado over San Francisco 5-1 +105 home underdogs. Oliver (2-3) surrendered seven hits while striking out two and walking one. He also belted a second-inning RBI double for the Rockies, who've won two of three in the series. San Francisco was again without slugger Barry Bonds, who also sat out Saturday's game with mild tendinitis in his right knee. He is expected to be back in the lineup when the Giants open a series with Arizona on Tuesday. Jesse Foppert (2-4) was saddled with the loss in a game that San Francisco desperately needed to win. NL West rival Los Angeles won its 10th straight on Sunday to pull within one-half game of the Giants for first place in the division. Foppert surrendered three runs -- two earned -- on four hits in just four innings. He walked three batters and threw a pair of wild pitches without picking up a strikeout. Neifi Perez tripled home a run, but that didn't come until the ninth inning with San Francisco trailing 5-0. The Rockies opened the scoring early, striking for a run in the first inning. Ron Belliard reached on an error to get things going and moved all the way to third base when Jay Payton followed with a single. Foppert then got Todd Helton to fly out, but walked Larry Walker to set the stage for Jose Hernandez, who lofted a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Belliard for a 1-0 Colorado lead. The Rockies wasted no time in adding to their advantage, scoring a pair in the second inning to go ahead by three. Charles Johnson walked to lead off the frame and scored when Oliver helped his own cause with a one-out double to center field. Oliver then moved to third base on a wild pitch and scored on Belliard's sacrifice fly to right, which made it 3-0. Colorado then grabbed a 5-0 lead in the seventh off San Francisco reliever Jim Brower. Helton doubled to right field with one out and, after Walker drew another walk and Hernandez struck out, both Helton and Walker came around to score on Norton's double. San Francisco didn't score until Perez tripled home Pedro Feliz with two outs in the ninth against Colorado reliever Jose Jimenez. Today's pitching matchup features Kirk Rueter of the Giants against Jason Jennings of Colorado. Reuter is 9-8 with a 5.29 ERA throughout his career against the Rockies. At Coors Field he is 5-2 with a 5.93 ERA. He is perfect in May, and his only loss of the season was a 4-2 defeat at the hands of April 29 against Kerry Wood and the Cubs. Jennings was not rewarded for a complete game in his last performance, a 3-2 loss at Los Angeles. But he is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA , with 24 strikeouts to 15 walks, in his past five starts.

      SELECTION: SAN FRANCISCO

AAA has a 2* play on St. Louis Cardinals - RUN LINE.

I am told that 2* is their highest play and is not put out very often.

Also, Alatex has a play on the Boston Red Sox.

            Good luck.
