--The Seattle SuperSonics will be glad to have All-Star guard Ray Allen back when they host the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Allen had been suspended by the NBA three games for his fight with Orlando's Keyon Dooling on January 11, leaving a major void in the SuperSonics' lineup.
During Allen's absence, Seattle lost all three games by an average of 14.3 points and bottomed out in Monday's 109-93 defeat to Golden State. Damien Wilkins and Luke Ridnour scored 18 points apiece but Rashard Lewis, who is second to Allen on the team in scoring, finished with just 10 on 5-of-17 shooting.
The Sonics were 5-of-17 (29 percent) from 3-point range and 12-of-18 (67 percent) from the free-throw line, numbers they hope to improve on with Allen back in the mix. He is 17-of-38 (45 percent) from the arc over his last five games and 23-of-23 from the line in his last seven.
While mired in the Atlantic Division basement most of the season, the Raptors won seven of 10 road games from December 2 to January 3. The run has become a memory after Wednesday's 96-94 loss at Portland put their skid away from home at three.
Jalen Rose scored 23 points and Chris Bosh added 22 for Toronto, which rallied from 13 points down in the fourth quarter before falling short. The Raptors shot 53 percent (32-of-60) from the floor but had 18 turnovers.
Seattle has won seven of the last eight meetings against Toronto.
