Arkansas State continues to battle a whole slew of injuries. They have been shorthanded with Kitus Witherspoon (back), Brandon Ballard (shoulder, out 6 straight games), and Jerry Nichols out for season (knee). Witherspoon may be back la! ter this week, but is not expected here. So, the Indians continue to go with bench players in starting roles. Arkansas State is only 4-4 SU, 1-2 ATS at home. Denver is better than their 10-7 record, having to grind through a brutal 5-game non-conference road trip. Since then, they've won 6 of 7. The Pioneers have excellent balance and an ace up front in 6-10 senior center Yemi Nicholson, last year's Sun Belt POY. The Pioneers balance out Nicholson with DaShawn Walker (13.9 ppg), Antonio Porch (8.6 ppg) and David Kummer (7.4 ppg) to help shoulder the scoring load. Walker and Kummer also average 4.3 rebounds per game. And they are all healthy! The Denver frontcourt should have a big edge, as ailing Arkansas State just lost at Western Kentucky, getting outrebounded 50-25!
