OSU coming off an emotional double OT loss to MSU losing 62-59. That was their 1st home loss of the year. The only other loss by OSU was a 2 point defeat at Indiana. OSU has lost 2 games all year to ranked opponents by a combined score of 5 points. They are 12-2 overall and a very good team at both ends of the court, especially at home. OSU's offence works around C Terence Dials (14.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) who gives them an inside prescence and draws a double team allowing the Buckeye guards to get open looks from the outside. Wisconsin counters with F Alondo Tucker (19 ppg, 5.4 rpg) who shoots 46.5% from the field but is a terrible FT shooter.
This will be a close defensive battle early on as Wisconsin is known for their ball control, clock chewing offence. OSU will try to establish an inside game first with Dials in order to open up shoots from the outside. This is a must for OSU as Wisky plays smoothering defence.
This will only be Wisky's 4th game on the road (1-2 overall on the road). They have already lost at WF and Pitt. Last week at Minny they barely beat the Gophers 64-62 after leading by 19 points early in the game. They committed 22 TOs in that game, if they do that tonight OSU should roll easily. This will be Wisky's toughest road test as both WF and Pitt are not as good as they were a couple of years ago. HC Thad Matta will have his squad ready for the visiting Badgers.
OSU will also be looking to exact some revenge on these Badgers. Last year Wisconsin beat OSU 3 times including 60-49 in the Big Ten Tournament to quash any hopes OSU had of going to the NCAA tourny.
