Tuesday's List of 13: Thinking nothing but warm thoughts
It is very cold here in America's second-favorite city, after it was in 40's and 50's here last week. With that in mind, as our teeth chatter, we're thinking golf to stay warm..........

        13) Eldrick Woods and Joe Durant both had stretches where they had seven holes in row under par last year, best on Tour Eight other golfers had six holes in row under par.

        12) TPC at Summerlin in Las Vegas (America's favorite city) is in the community named after Howard Hughes' grandmother. Summerlin is the largest master-planned community is the US.

        11) At one point last year, Luke Donald converted 18 sand saves in row, best on Tour in 2005.

        10) Phil Mickelson is first lefty to win PGA Championship; he is also first lefthander to win two majors.

        9) When Robert Gamez won the Texas Open last year, it was his first Tour win since 1990; 15 years, six months is longest drought between wins in Tour history.

        8) Fred Funk is a 1980 Maryland graduate, where he majored in criminal justice.

        7) Eldrick Woods won 46 tournaments in his 20's, most ever, 16 more than anyone else. Arnold Palmer had 44 wins in his 30's, the most ever, one more than Ben Hogan.

        6) Paul Stankowski ('96) and Jason Gore ('05) are only golfers to win a tournament on both Nationwide Tour, PGA Tour in same season.

        5) The Nationwide Tour started in 1990; there are 4 tourneys that still exist from that original season: Wichita, Knoxville, Boise and Springfield, MO.

        4) When you play Harbourtown Golf Links in South Carolina, when you get to the 14th and 15th holes, you're playing the hardest par 3 (14th) and hardest par 5 (15th) on Tour last year

        3) The shortest par 4 on Tour is the 15th at River Highlands in Hartford, a 296-yard driveable hole with water on the left. You can usually find me by the green, where you can easily also see the 17th green and 18th tee.

        2) From 2008-10, the US Open will be on public courses; the '08 Open is at Torrey Pines South in San Diego, 2009 will be at Bethpage Black on Long Island, and 2010 is at Pebble Beach.

        1) The 2006 *************** Golf Tour will be starting in two weeks; we'll be picking three golfers a week, for 18 different tournaments during season. You can only use the same guy once per year, and you earn whatever money they earn that week. If you're interested in joining, e-mail me, and we'll set something up.
