    1) What do you mean by "apologists" when used in this context

    2) Is there no talk of how much pressure was put on manning the entire game? Does that go unnoticed? I agree, you have to look at results, and the colts cant win the big game, I understand that, I am not looking for an argument on this hungover sunday afternoon

BY apologists I mean this. Simply everyone who is a manning fan simply makes excuses for his piss poor play and never ever not even once puts the blame on Manning. Not once. The guy doesnt have it plain and simple.

They were real flat for a good part of the game(and of course credit must be given to Pitt.), and by the time they recovered, it was too late.
Its sort of like a good horse who gets a terrible break from the gate, is way behind and simply doesn't have enough time to make up the lost ground especially if there are other good horses in the race.

Not a Manning fan (outside of the great commercials), but think the Defense let him down.
Not better or worse for either team, but those refs will be on vacation from today on!

I always thought football was the ultimate team game. Overrated off line(can't pick up a blitz or joey porter), overrated def (and a poor tackling 1), and a overrated coach(nice guy but..). But I guess it was all manning why they lost. A down NE team this year and Mr. Brady didn't look to good when his team fell apart. But he won those SB without teamates and coaches I guess. Some people are 2 funny.

                Bry

Dungy and Manning are a bad combination ... any way we look at it.

Sooner or later one of these 2 will have to leave.

Eventhough he didnt have a great game himself, can the Brady / Manning comparisons finally stop too. Its not even close when it comes to these two.

Case and point: Brady own his own 18, tie game 1:17 on clock, no time outs, Super Bowl, 14 pt dog, leads team to GW FG.

Manning, (even after getting bailed out once by the BS non-INT) gets the ball at home, playing a team he is a 10 pt favorite against, own 20 yd line, 3 timeouts, and goes 4 and out. Gets the ball back again (3rd chance!!!!!!!) at his own 40, 3 timeouts still, and can only get within a 46 yd fg.

I DONT EVER WANT TO HEAR THESE TWO COMPARED AGAIN.

I give the majority of the credit for Manning's great performance sunday to the Mayor of Blitzburgh, Tricky Dicky LeBeau. Peyton, that's P-E-Y-T-O-N, was so confused by the blitzes that he couldn't hit a receiver if his life depended on it. He had completed one pass going into the second quarter and it was a one-handed stab by Harrison. I don't really even know if the blitzes were confusing in any other way than the fact that the Steelers blitzed, early and OFTEN. I am a huge Steeler fan and I have sat at home and watched alot of games this year screaming at the TV, "BLITZ you motherfuckers, BLITZ." and they finally did it this game...i was more excited about how much they were blitzing than the score of the game. I almost creamed in my Steelers zubaz when they blitzed on 4th and 15 with a little over a minute left. That was the way LeBeau coached the last time he was Def Coor here. Maybe though it was a good idea not to blitz all year because if the Steelers did, the AFC championship game would be in the Burgh next Sunday and we all know how that story ends.

Congrats 10 Dime. I am the biggest Peyton fan and tho I dont think "choke" is the word to be used. I give you much props for having his underacheieving offense sent home even after finally acheiving their goal of home field throughout.

I am not a Colts fan what-so-ever but I also agree with CB that Dungy and Manning are not a good combination...
