Serious question. Would you feel better with Orton starting? They won by 10 with him and Grossman is no doubt better!
Yes to Orton w/ me on Carolina's side...however,
I just feel that the first game does not give us the true indicator of what is to come (adjustments will be made by Carolina and I feel they have an advantage in experience, coaching and so on to make the diff in this type of game)...to me it's a toss out but I'll assume most backing Carolina would say that for peace of mind, HA. If Orton was starting this game, IMO, the line would be a PK at best...to me there are a couple areas that push me to Carolina's side; Carolina's +16 TO's & Car yds/pass completion advantage...virtually every other category I've looked at is almost a wash...now Carolina has some other areas that I've found help in my side while Chicago has really only 2 areas that help them...HOME FIELD and yds per points allowed or Defense and HOME field. On a side note, what most everyone knows, is that TO's more times than not give you the winning side...Seattle yesterday was the not but I saw the Seattle game as I see the Chicago game...a better offensive team w/ an underrated Defense...Carolina is no question a better offensive team than Chicago and their D is good. My feeling was Wash would not be able to muster enough O to help their D...Seattle found just enough...this game appears to me to be almost an exact replica...the wild card obviously being QB...
Back to my HOME field and Defense: The argument for those 2 alone could very well get Chicago to cover, however, they do need to score so we come back to Grossman being able to aid in this BIG question.
For my money to be placed on a team I need to have complete confidence. This game will answer a huge question and debate...can an under experienced QB (not one that hasn't played PLAYOFF games, but one that you have to go back to COLLEGE to view tape) 'lead' a team such as this in a game of this stature? A QB who's had pass attempts of 72, 84 and 39 in the NFL doesn't give me hope. What PRESSURE do you think this young man is feeling, or should we ask Eli or Chris Simms?? IMO, it's easy for the Bears to tout that Grossman is a 'leader'...if they said otherwise, Orton would be in, you agree? Give the most positive message to help ease this very inept offense's mind. Sports Psychologist I'm sure are eating this one up.
I won't go into every possible angle, cuz I've probably taken up too much time in giving my opine or POV when this is your thread and your pick. I'm sorry and I'll digress...
You asked as a 'serious question', so I thought I'd give a little insight into my thoughts of game.
I'll wish you luck in your plays today and love seeing what you play.
BTW, w/ the amount of Chicago blood w/in my household, you'd think I'd just go w/ heart & take Chicago...LOL
I'm just out of control right now...best of luck brother
Its all about to end for ya bro.. Carolina wins today and you will be on the long black train of sorrow with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.. Damn that feels good to say that the Pats WILL NOT win the Super Bowl this season lol..

Coming from a Cowboys fan that couldn't even make the Playoffs. It means nothing!
