It is that time of year again and unfortunately (or fortunately) although these predictions are very solid bets, you will have to put up some money to win some money.......if i am not mistaken between the globes and oscars in 2005, my record was 20-2
In the past , these predictions for the movie award shows (golden globe/oscar) are usually around 90%+.........as we saw last time out, it is a little bit tougher predicting the tv shows, but here goes::
Lines below are lines at pinnacle where you can wager up to $1000 per award
Best Drama Picture------------>Brokeback mountain (-372) is a lock, nothing else can win under any circumstance......
Best Comedy Picture---------->Walk the Line (-215) should win this award, there is an outside chance 'the squid and the whale' wins but very unlikely, nothing else in the category has a shot
Best Drama Actor-------->Phillip Hoffman (-205) is probably going to win as he has taken 75% of the 'pre-cursor awards' (awards in the same category given by other award groups) where heath ledger has taken about 25%.......even though everyone loves brokeback monutain, hofffman's portrayal of truman capote, a real-life character should win him the award
Best Drama Actress--------->Felicity huffman (-157) very good line for someone that appears to be a shoe-in; could lose to gwenneth paltrow who is always an award favorite but once again, her character was the toughest to play and being a star on former globe winner desperate housewives makes her a good bet at -157
Best Comedy Actress--------->reese witherspoon (-500) is a mortal lock, couldnt lose under any circumstance and for that matter, is a lock to win best actress at the academy awards; at the risk of being repetitive, playing a real life character like june carter is impressive and she uses her own voice which makez her more impressive
Best Comedy Actor------->joaquin phoenix (-255) is a great bet at -255 because nobody else has a legit chance.......last year jaime foxx won for portraying ray charles, but phoenix does just as well doing ****** cash and as i stated above, using his own voice is something foxx (who won every award imaginable) did not even do
i have never seen a site do what pinnacle is doing but if you look at the lines, they do not even list all the nominees, they just have it where you can either bet these people win or you get the other 4 in the category.......
understand that this is not just some random prediction analysis on my part, i do this for a living and the golden globes are voted on by what the call the 'foreign press' which is actually a group of votes from mostly southern california, so their votes usually mirror the 15-20 of groups who vote all prior to this.........
