Guys I'm thinking about buying some vacation property on Palm Island in Dubai. Any suggestions?

The average selling price is 1.5 million. The vacation cost of living is 136% higher than going to Hawaii.

But I think I can swing it.

The plain truth is that you can afford it.

But it would be a lot more fun if you and I did something together.

        Give it some thought.

WOW, that's one I've not come across...I guess some questions need to be answered for me to give an OPINE...and then maybe even more after those...

How often do you plan on going?
          Family members going?
Rental/lease opps w/ this or strickly a vaca spot for you/family?
Avg price of plane tkts to get there?
SAFETY??? I don't squat about Dubai but doesn't Osama have relatives there? J/K, but is it an issue?
Expected length of holding this investment?
Why there versus any other place on the planet or U.S. soil?

          More later...
          FUCK YOU, FUCK ME

That place is rich in oil money. Even at 1.5 million seems low. But from what I hear it is quite the place.

Why not, and then go for a real long term money maker buy getting some oceanfront property in Nicarauga for 1/10th that price. Pick up a maid and cook for another $7 a day. Should double your money in 3 or 4 years.
