Florida has not won a road game yet (0-9) with Michael Tejera on the mound in the two years he’s been a major leaguer. Meanwhile it’s fairly obvious former Marlin Livan Hernandez has a bit of a chip on his shoulder when it comes to his former employer. Hernandez’ 2.56 career ERA against Florida is his ! personal best against all National League teams. The Marlins have lost five straight and are still without Ivan Rodriguez. Montreal’s 29-17 start is the best in franchise history after 46 games and they’ve won 11 of 15 recently plus a dynamite 16-8 at home. The Fish are now 25 games under .500 on the road the past two years at 41-66. It’s difficult not to be impressed with the last effort thrown by Hernandez. He went 7 1/3rd innings and allowed just five hits and one earned run at Colorado and Coors Field. The last time he faced Florida, Hernandez threw a 5-hit complete game shutout. The Expos are 6-0 as a home favorite between -150 and -175 this year. Florida has scored just nine runs in their current five game losing skid. Watching teams like Atlanta, Montreal, and Philadelphia in their division has to be extremely discouraging for the Marlins. Watch them mail it in again tonight on the road with winless Tejera
