This might sound wrong, but what is that growth/scar on his face??? was he burned or something when younger?

he was burned when he was younger. i wondered the same thing for the last few years, and espn did a special earlier on one of the players on VT that saved somebody last summer in a fire and mentioned that he shared the same scars with his coach.
