Opinion-On the Iona- Manhattan Iona team is at home. RPI much better for Iona. However, this one is just to close to call.
Manhattan Jaspers, the team that everyone else in the MAAC has been chasing for the last few years, drop four straight games right out of the gate. But since a 78-69 setback to Rhode Island during the first week of December, the team has battled back with six consecutive triumphs. The most recent win for the squad was an 89-78 decision over St. Francis last Friday.
Last year Iona had two 2 point wins over Manhattan.
But it seems the Jaspers are hitting their stride at this time, so to count them out would be a mistake, even on the road at +4 1/2 points. Those on Iona tonight will see a tight close ballgame.
