Yes, we watched an incredible game. However the BIG LOSERS in last night game was college football fans. I'm certain the TV ratings were huge. The NCAA and BCS got what they wanted undefeated #1 vs #2 playing for the national title.

After last nights game don't expect to see a football playoff any time soon. Next season the media will have their controversy once again. Let's face it! The NCAA loves the controversy. I don't think they really care who's #1.

Seriously they do need a playoff. What exactly is the BCS??? bowl championship series?? What does that mean??? IMO all the games besides the title game are nothing more than a exhibition game. They mean 100% nothing. I mean who really cares if you finish 4th 5th or 10th overall in a computer poll. My point is if you have a 8 team playoff everyone is slotted and its decided on the field. Every other major sport has adopted a playoff system. Why cant NCAA football???? cause the powers that be are a bunch of fools that only care about $$$ not whats best for the sport.

I'm not sure if its totally about amount of $$$ - lets face it CBS just paid about 3.2 BILLION for 5 or 6 years of the NCAA basketball tournament, so playoffs can generate some money. It might be more about keeping all the money in the hands of the big power conferences. Right now all the big BCS money is gobbled up by 6 big boys (Big 11, Big 12, SEC, ACC, Little East, Pac 10.) I think that the playoff money would be allocated differently - maybe evenly. They certainly do not want to share with smaller conferences or cinderellas. The fans really are the losers here. If there were a playoff, maybe we would have 3 or 4 Texas/USC type caliber games to watch. The basketball tournament is usually brimming with drama.

i agree. Just imagine this. If the penn st/florida st winner played the USC/Texas winner for the title. Forget about FSU record for a moment. I'm saying if orange and rose were semi finals in a playoff that would mean next week we'd have

Right. There are so many meaningless bowl games between 6-5 teams that were 5th in their conference. Who cares? Lets see games that mean something. National quarterfinals, semis and so on. It would be exciting.

Well teams that are hot at the end of the season would be very dangerous in a 16 team playoff. Ohio State or West Virginia and a couple others would present alot of problems for either USC or Texas.

8 team playoff would be perfect. Thats only 3 games max. and after the 1st round 1/2 the teams will be gone so only 4 teams will actually be playing more then 1 game after regular season ends. IE how it is now. all these teams play 1 exta game(bowls). IMO you keep the bowl games how they are. use the big bowl venues as host sites for the playoffs rotate them for the championship game. its really easy.

i agree with u guys i hate the way the do these bowl BCS=BULLSHITT,CUNT,SYSTEM,i dono who does even know how the system work even the ESPN experts have trouble with it so why oh why do they not change it
