please name one MVP who won the award cause of his Defense. Defense has nothing to do with the MVP award. Its about offense. Papi was nails this year and he was clutch. Gay rod if you look at it padded his stats. Meaning he hit HR's and RBI's when the team already had 8-2 leads. WOOO big deal.

eckersley and fingers were closers. They got saves. that IMO is pitching. Defense is catches put outs. I should have made the clarification. Hernandez had a great offensive year that year if i'm not mistaken. For that time period of course.
