Bowl Record: 12-12-0 (+0.30 units)
Well I may never be the great handicapper and businessman that Brandon Lane is, but I have managed to go 10-4 over my last 14 picks, after a 2-8 start that had me down over 15 units. This is the first time I've been "up" since I started betting on bowl games because I lost my New Orleans Bowl pick on Southern Miss and never got back into the black. I am thrilled that the debacle that was the first week of bowl season is behind me, and I am ready to put college football behind me and bet on the NFL playoffs.
1/4 Rose Bowl
USC -7 vs. Texas 2**
I do like this pick, but the truth is I have no choice but to root for the Trojans tonight. At the beginning of the season I placed 3 separate futures bets on the Trojans, totaling some 20 units, on them to win the Rose Bowl at +200. Needless to say, tonight could be very profitable for me if USC does manage to win. I have thought about hedging the game by beting something on Texas, but I prefer to take my chances with USC. If a team on a 34 game winning streak, with 2 Heisman trophy winners, playing in their home state, cannot win straight up, then it just wasn't meant to be. Not often do you get all that at +200 for one game, which is essentially what I have going tonight.
Good luck tonight guys and GO TROJANS!
