  • Brent Musburger story!

I bumped into the crew doing the fiesta bowl today at the OSU team hotel. needless to say a big thrill for me. especially when brent musburger came up to me and my friend and asked how we were doing and it we were having a good time...blah blah blah. felt thaT was super cool actually b/c i have been watching this guy since i was a young kid when he did his show with jimmy the greek on cbs!

what do i say to him?? not hello or great to meet you. the first thing out of my mount is do you like the chalk or the dog on monday?? he actually engaged a bit and chuckled. he said he liked osu's chances but had no gut either way on the game just that it would be a tight game. he said he really loved the dog in the ROSe BOWL. said he has seen both teams quite a bit this year texas a bit more than sc and the fact no one is giving them a shot makes him a believer in the horns

    Wright, cool story.

Your Signature line, do you know the whole poem?

its easy to grin when your ship comes in...
and you think you got the stock market beat,
    but a man worthwhile....
is a man who can smile....
when his pants are too tight in the seat.

I've always liked Brent's play-by-play. There is no one that makes references to lines and odds more than him. I get the impression that he certainly is a gambler. He even makes references to back-door covers etc. I'm not sure alot of other guys would get away with it honestly. I enjoy his college basketball coverage with Lavin on ESPN. If he's a gambler, he's okay with me.
Circumstances do not make the man; they reveal him.
