My alma mater USF Bulls largely struggled on offense with the exception of Andre Hall, who led the Big East in rushing with 1,256 yards. He should have his hands full with All-American defensive ends Mario Williams and Manny Lawson, who combined to record 22 1/2 sacks for the Wolfpack.
North Carolina State (6-5) stumbled to a 2-4 start under embattled coach Chuck Amato before rebounding to win four of its last five games. The Wolfpack turned things around in large part because of freshman running back Andre Brown, who gained 616 yards despite rushing just 13 times for 42 yards in the first five games.
NC State should have the crowd on its side, as the school is located only about 170 miles away from Charlotte.
