I really think the NCAA has the whole review thing screwed up.

The purpose of review is to let a play go an error where the play can be fixed. The NFL does a decent job but not as good as a job as they should. Let plays play out even if you think someone is down when they fumbled. Also allow coaches to challenge aslong as they have a timeout. I know the games may go a little longer but I think it is worth it to get the call right so that a team does not lose a game or a chance to win a game or to secure the win during a game.

    Just my opinion

    2012 Record:

    1 unit = $100

***All sides and totals -110 unless noted***

***Teasers are -120 & 7 Points on Sides and 5 Points on Totals ties push****

      staylor36,

there is no more halo rule...just have to give the returner a chance to catch the ball. I agree though both should have been called!

You are correct that there is no halo rule, but neither play should have been called. All the defender has to do is allow the player to make the catch, which he did. The defender has every right to make contact with the returner once the catch has been made.

Of course that last play may have been the worst of all. Nebraska's entire team was on the field! Of course we know the game can't end on a defensive penalty, so it shouldve been Michigan ball at the Nebraska 10 yard line for 1 final play.

But of course none of this would have even happened if it hadn't been for a non call on a blatant PI penalty in the end zone on Michigan's 4th down play on their previous possession. What the hell was that?

I've never seen such lazy, incompetent, and less confident officials in my life. The Alamo Bowl will think twice before inviting the Sun Belt conference officials again I'm sure.

How many times can I get screwed over this bowl season?

I can see that Michigan backers could be upset with some of the calls, but they didn't cost Michigan the game. Michigan blew an 11 point lead and Nebraska made plays when they needed them. Don't forget that before the 4th down play when Michigan was driving, one of their recievers dropped a sure first down. Michigan failed to make the plays to hold their lead and to come back after falling behind.

And as far as the last play goes, you can't penalize Nebraska for being on the field becasue Michigan had players and coaches on the field as well. The only thing different that could have been called would have been sideline warnings on both sides and the game would have ended the same. Either that or offsetting penalties, and the last play would have been replayed from the original line of scrimmage.
