  • OK Bears fans...now what?

Mission Very much accomplished yesterday. Still a little worried about the missed tackles, that didn't seem to happen in the beginning of the year, but I'm sure that can be corrected.

But now...with nothing to play for next week, do we even put a uniform on Grossman next week vs Minnesota? One one hand...he needs the reps and the playing time to get the offense more in sync. On the other hand...that injury bug has bit him numerous times....once in Minnesota last year.

I'm a bit torn, although I think I know where a majority is going to lean.

There is no way Grossman can play next week .. That is what practice is for .. I agree with saying practice is nothing like the real deal but if he goes Down so do our chances ...

I think Lovey is too good of a coach to risk him playing in a useless game ... JMHO

I agree....There is NO reason to put him in. Hell put Blake in and give him some playing time, because if you really think about it, I'd rather have Blake then Orton if god help us Grossman goes down.

You put 2 very hard weeks of practice in with the offense and be ready for I hope Tampa! LOL

He does just what Manning did vs Seat. Play a series or two and go sit down. Same thing with as many others as possible.

Luckily for you, I'm 99.9% sure that Lovey is not going to call you and consult about this subject so you're off the hook on this one

I agree about the fact that Grossman is good.. But what makes everyone think that if Gross goes down again so will your chances?? Correct me if im wrong but wasnt yesterday Grossman's 1st start this season?? And from the looks if it the Bears have a very good record WITHOUT Rex.. Saying this team will go down without Rex as their QB is pretty funny.. Orton can handle this team just as good with or without Rex..

Have you been watching the Bears this year T??? The Bears have won with defense and defense only without Grossman .. There is no offense without him .. It is nap time for me when they play if Grossman is not QB'ing ..

If you are so sure about that...i want you to find another team that started a quarterback that won 10 games as a starter and then was replaced at halftime of a game that they were WINNING.

I dare say you will be looking for a LONG time.

Orton deserves his props for NOT losing the games for the Bears and letting his defense carry him....but there is no way that Orton could lead this team into the playoffs. Not yet.

Yeah i have watched them but IMO saying without Grossman the season is over is a far fetch from the truth.. Remember the saying DEFENSE wins Championships and that they have.. Even though it looked somewhat suspect last night against Favre and the Pack they stepped it up when they had to.. Im still sticking to my guns and saying Seattle VS Pats in the Super Bowl but it wouldnt surprise me to see Chicago there if the D keeps playing like they have all season..

It would not suprise me either Tmac...I think Seattle vs Pats is a very likely matchup.

Defense does win championships, but with that defense has to go along a little offense. You can't win a 0-0 game.

We never said with Orton at the helm our season was over...but they would not win two playoff games, maybe one if they were lucky, but I think Bears fans as a whole feel a whole lot better of our chances with Rex in there.

Rook - it's all about the D. If they continue to be dominant on that side, there is no way they will lose at home regardless of the QB. I'm just not sure they have enough to beat Seattle on the road if it comes to that, but it will be interesting.

That was the point i was trying to get across.. They won on D all season long so reguardless of whim the QB is they will continute to do so..

                            Here's my point though...

Don't you think that the bears have a BETTER shot at winning on the road vs Seattle if they win?

That's my whole point....it's not the incredible difference between the two...but who gives the bears the better chance of winning. I don't even think its debatable to tell you the truth.

I will feel so much better if we have to go into seattle for the nfc championship with Grossman then Orton...because there is a very good possibility that we might be behind at some point of the game. I don't want to have Orton throwing the ball under pressure.

Rex is not the end all be all...but he may be enough.
