I'm amazed Toledo is favored in this game. Toledo couldn't even win the MAC in one of that conference's most mediocre years of the past decade. UTEP played a much tougher schedule in C-USA and is being downgraded because they ended with back to back losses to SMU and UAB. But they won four in a row prior to that, including a thrashing of former MACD member Marshall, who might have won the MAC this year. Toledo's QB Gradkowski is fine but not as good as UTEP's Palmer (Carson's little brother).

The Mountain West was very strong this year with a lot of good teams beating each other up (Utah, SD State, New Mexico were all better than their records). BYU actually played better than most are aware and the 6-5 record is misleading. Cal seemed to get worse all year and their QB, Ayoob, is awful and may have to share playing time with a third stringer who spent most of the season as a backup fullback! Also, BYU routinely plays at this site in Vegas and will have more of its fans in attendance. Possible straight up upset.
