Packers (3-10) @ Ravens (4-9)-Green Bay won last three series games and five of last six; this is their first trip to Baltimore since they visited the Colts in 80's. Pack is 0-2 after win this season, with both losses by FG. Baltimore has star S Reed back, so defense is better (allowed 15 or less points in three of last four games, one TD on last 22 drives), but Boller is awful QB, unable to make plays last week that should have pulled upset at Denver. All six Raven home games stayed under total, as have seven of last eight Green Bay games; Pack scored two TD's on last 25 drives, allowed three on last 47 drives.

Pepperdine is young team and just 2-6, ending 4-game loss skid with shaky home win over Long Beach Saturday; Pepperdine's guards are not athletic, trouble vs hungry Kansas team that is a disappointing 4-4, but their wins are by 24-48-29-13 points. This is not the typically spunky Pepperdine squad.

Arkansas State beat Ole Miss last two years, 70-68/74-69; State is 2-6 vs D-I teams this year, but only one of their losses is by more than 12 points. Rebels got hammered 72-49 by Memphis in last game, a home rivalry game; their second loss in last three games. Saint Louis is best team they've beaten this season.

Bowling Green lost 71-60 to Florida State in last game; they lost last four games vs D-I teams, scoring just 63 ppg. Troy State is is 3-0 at home, but also 0-3 after a win; they've lost at Columbia and SE Louisiana, not good sign. Falcons are picked 6th in their division, Trojans sixth in their new league, the Sun Belt.

LSU is 6-1, beating up on UL-Lafayette 81-62 Saturday; five of their six wins are by 19+ points. Northern Iowa is 7-1, but six of the eight games were at home; they lost 68-61 at Iowa St, won 69-63 at Western Michigan. Panthers are picked to win the MVC and MVC teams are usually pretty strong out of conference.

Stanford went to Denver last year and won 56-52, but Cardinal reeling after three straight losses, last of which was 59-52 in Las Vegas vs Virginia Tech late Saturday night. With an experienced team, Stanford expected better. Denver lost both games of trip to the Dakotas, 81-78 and 79-66, bad sign for Sun Belt favorite.

Chattanooga beat Creighton at home, but is just 1-5 vs Division I teams; they have three non D-I wins; they're 0-4 away from its home court, losing to MTSU and North Texas. Holy Cross is 4-4 losing to Siena, Vermont and Harvard, so this will be good time to hit the beach in San Juan, if you want to skip a game.

Mount St Mary is 1-6, shooting 38% from floor, 29% on 3-balls; their only win is vs Binghamton, and they've lost four games by 12+ points. Akron is 3-2, losing last game 111-85 at Louisville; their D-I wins are 67-62 vs Youngstown St, 79-61 vs Duquesne. Another forgettable game in San Juan.

Mississippi State is 7-2 and won its last four games since losing at home to both Northwestern State and SE Louisiana, two bad losses; they have five new starters this year. Liberty is 0-5 this season vs D-I teams, losing to Longwood, Lipscomb; they are scoring just 65 ppg.

Central Florida is 5-2, losing at Florida, Florida Atlantic; Gators are only strong foe they've played. Knights are picked 7th in its new league, C-USA. Western Kentucky lost by hoop at Bradley in last game, after trailing by 12 at half; their second loss in row after Pacific drilled them 91-75 in Diddle Arena.

Sam Houston has win at Missouri this year, so they're not awful team; Bearkats are 6-2, losing to Drexel, Houston, but they only shoot 29.9% beyond arc. Arizona is struggling, but they did pull away from Utah in second half Saturday and beat Utes 73-43 as a 5-point favorite. Sam Houston has also edged New Mexico St.

UT-Martin lost its last two trips to Morehead State, 75-69/70-68 as home team won three of last four series games. T-Mart is 1-1 in OVC, both home games; they lost 78-61 at Louisville, while the hosts are 0-2 in OVC, losing 66-55 at Austin Peay, 92-40 at Murray State; they're 0-5 vs D-I teams.

Eastern Kentucky won its last two games vs Eastern Illinois by 71-67/74-72 scores. EKU is 1-6 this season, 0-2 in OVC, losing at Murray State 80-51, 79-63 at Austin Peay. EIU is also 0-2 in OVC losing pair of home games, 83-80 vs Tennessee Tech, 84-68 vs Tennessee Tech. Tough to lay 10 points with 1-6 team.

Delaware lost its last six games since opening win vs Stetson, their only home game so far. Hens are picked 8th in CAA, so not highly thought of. NC-Greensboro is is 7-3 with four wins in row they're 1-2 on road, winning at East Carolina, losing 85-53, 77-55 at Vanderbilt, South Carolina.

Butler is 5-4 after losing 59-58 at home vs undefeated Indiana St Saturday; Bulldogs won three of last four games, are picked 4th in Horizon. Elon lost seven of its last eight games; they're 0-7 vs D-I teams, and are 0-3 on road this season, losing by 12,20 and 1 point vs Georgia Tech, VCU and IUPUI.

Gonzaga beat Eastern Washington last seven years by 13-21-3 10(ot)-9-34-22 points. Zags are getting little healthier, but have been playing big teams and could let down here. Eastern lost by 17 at Washington Friday, their first loss in four games after 0-3 disaster in Alaska, when they lost by 18-10-8 points.

Tennessee State is 2-2, 1-1 in OVC, and appears to be improved, winning 84-68 at Eastern Illinois, losing by only 10 at Ga Tech. Southern Mississippi is undermanned, 2-6 vs D-I clubs; they've scored 57 or less points in all their losses. TSU is picked 6th in OVC, Southern Miss 8th in C-USA.

Home side won last two SE Missouri-Samford games; Samford beat SEMO here 70-58 two years ago, but lost 72-65 on road last year. Bulldogs lost its OVC opener 62-61 vs Jacksonville State at home; they're 3-4 overall. Newly-named Red Hawks are 4-4, 1-2 in OVC, losing 72-60 at UT-Martin, splitting pair of home games.

Murray State beat Jacksonville State last two years, 77-61 here two years ago, and 89-84 at home last year. Racers 2-0 in OVC, winning pair of home games 80-51/92-40; they lost at Cincinnati in OT, so they're pretty good. Gamecocks are also 2-0 in OVC, winning games at Samford (62-61), UT-Martin (93-84).

Montana State is 1-6 vs D-I teams, and also lost to Fairbanks, a D-II team, so Bobcats, favorite in Big Sky, are struggling. This is their first home game vs D-I team this year. Portland won three of last four games after 1-5 start; they lost last game at Wazoo Saturday, 61-46. Pilots are picked third in WCC.

Cal-Riverside has new coach, is trying to play faster without the talent to do so, which explains their 0-6 record, with no losses by less than 15 points. Montana won its last seven games since opening loss at Boise State; their road wins are 81-75 at Monroe 78-72 (ot) at Drake; they also beat Stanford by 19 at home.

Monday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but......
                      13) I think the NFL does its product a disservice by having a lot of cold weather night games late in season. It lowers the quality of play, and decreases the chance that the better team will win. People tune in to watch someone like Michael Vick, but with sub-zero wind chill, he's lot less of a factor.

                      12) They'd never admit it, but I bet Bill Polian, Tony Dungy aren't the saddest people on earth tonight. Now all the media who care only about their own stories can go away, and Indy can concentrate on what is important, winning a Super Bowl.

                      11) Total yardage in Patriot-Buc game Saturday: 336-138; it wouldn't shock me if Tim Rattay found his way into the Bucs' lineup fairly soon. Young Simms isn't the answer.

                      10) I watched the Cleveland-Oakland game Sunday, as it was the only close late game, and boy, Cleveland's defense plays hard!!! Charlie Frye is OK for a rookie; I liked what I saw of the Browns. The Raiders, on the other hand, are a mess.

                      9) 25 accepted penalties in Steeler-Viking game, 28 in Eagles-Ram game; what is it about these indoor games? NFL refs are calling too many penalties; the game is over-officiated and over-coached. Please let the players play.

                      8) I think Seattle is best team in NFC; don't see Carolina's run game doing enough to win road game in playoffs. Bears are a team with great defense, but if they don't get the ball inside the other team's 20, their offense is impotent.

                      7) Jacksomville's 10-9 win over 49ers was as ugly as a win can possibly be. Niners are 0-7 on road (2-5 vs spread) and didn't score TD in either game they covered. Jags were way lucky to escape and will need to play better at Houston last week.

                      6) Am guessing that behind closed doors, Mr Tagliabue had a talk with Texans' management this week, with all the talk of Houston dumping games to get Reggie Bush. Now 49ers are the favorites to land the #1 pick.

                      5) Seattle had 22 TD drives of 80+ yards, most in the NFL.

                      4) 1,600 yards is the measure of a great running back, average of 100 yards per game. Shawn Alexander has done it two yrs in a row, an excellent performance for sure.

                      3) It used to be a penalty to spike ball when clock is running, but I see it happen all the time now. Could we bring this rule back? I'd rather see touchdown dances than nitwits spiking the ball after a 6-yard gain on third-and-5.

                      2) The Rams are 5-9, and in second place in their division.

                      1) Receivers on losing teams are not that enthusiastic about going over the middle to catch passes in traffic.
