Missouri State (formerly SW Missouri) is 6-0, with no wins by less than 13 points; they've won at Arkansas State, Oral Roberts so they're pretty good, better than preseason 4th pick in MVC. Arkansas won its last five games and is 6-2, with only losses in Maui, to Maryland and UConn. Their best wins are 65-64 over Kansas, 66-63 at home vs Missouri.

Wisconsin has beaten Wisc-Milwaukee last seven years; last yr they drilled Panthers 66-37; previous six margins were 18,11,2,38 20 and 12 points. Badgers are 8-1, barely escaping 54-51 earlier in week vs NC-Wilmington, also a good team. Milwaukee has an experienced team learning Badger-type system, as new coach is former Ryan assistant.

Mississippi State pounded Jacksonville State 95-53 last year, as a 22-point favorite; this year, Bulldogs already lost at home vs NW Louisiana and SE Louisiana, so they're less dependable in this spot. Gamecocks are 4-2, winning their first two OVC games both on road; their losses are 67-46 at Vandy, 73-62 vs Del. State

                Thursday's List of 13:
Since we're in the holiday season, thought I'd make Christmas list for sports people that we write about all year long…..

                13) College football- A playoff system (you know, like ones in Divisions III, II and I-AA), so speculation can be replaced by reality.

                12) Baseball fans- A salary cap, so everyone can have chance to win.

                11) NHL- Better TV ratings for a great sport.

                10) Trent Green and Dick Vermeil- One more Super Bowl, only this time, Green gets to play in it.

                9) NBA fans- DirecTV package, so you can watch Lebron, Garnett and every Suns' game.

                8) UNLV and Bob Huggins- Someone get these two parties together.

                7) David Carr- An offensive line to protect him, receivers to catch his passes.

                6) Reality TV- How about a series, focusing on three separate people who move to Las Vegas, in hope of becoming professional gamblers? It isn't all about TV lights and big stacks of chips. Lord knows there has to be some disasters in there too, and trainwrecks make for great TV.

                5) Golden State Warrior fans- A long playoff run for some very loyal fans.

                4) Mike Martz- Best of health and a new job.

                3) Scott Drew, Baylor basketball coach- Some non-conference games. Baylor isn't playing any this year, part of their penalty from NCAA.

                2) Philip Rivers-A chance to play somewhere.

                1) Jim Haslett- A long vacation on a very warm beach, very far away (with no men in striped shirts) after this disaster of a season. Next season will be better; it has to be.
