It is Finals Week in most places, so the schedule will little slow this week; we'll be using the time to work on bowl games and Week 15 of NFL, so make sure you log on every day.

UAB is 2-1 on road, beating UMass 86-77 in Springfield, losing 70-66 at DePaul, and winning 73-72 at Nebraska; they're 3-2 and have three starters back from 22-11 team. Minnesota has Grier back in lineup; they're 5-2, 4-1 at home, beating UNLV 72-67 and losing to Gardner-Webb.

Northwestern is 4-3, with sliding Charlotte best team they have beaten; Wildcats have three starters back from last year, but are struggling shooting ball. Illinois-Chicago beat Georgia Tech by 22, then lost to Georgia Southern and Chicago State, so they're off the charts, very unpredictable.

Of the games tonight, I like Bradley a little, but Braves been off for eight days, and if you saw Wake Forest last night, the home court during exams not quite what it is after New Year's, plus the Braves been off for eight days, so rust is issue. Hilltoppers are an odd team that has already won 92-76 at UAB, and also won at Eastern Kentucky, while losing two home games.

Eastern Michigsn is 2-3 this year, 0-2 on orad, losing at Indiana 79-63 and at North Dakota State 87-65; they're 0-3 if they score less than 67 points. Green Bay is 3-5, winning last game by 75-73 over Montana State; they beat North Dakota State by 5 at home and covered one of three as favorite this season.

Cincinnati got PG Moore back, added an assistant coach, then went to Nashville and drilled Vandy, 92-83; now we'll see if they can avoid three-game home losing streak, which would be very big thing in Queen City, as they host Bobcat squad that is 4-0, winning games last week at Marist and Rhode Island.

Fordham lost five of last six games, pulling 62-60 upset in their last game, as 12-point dog at Virginia; they beat Fairfield last yr 84-68 as home dog of 5.5-points. Stags are 1-6, routing nomadic Tulane for their only win; they're picked for sixth in MAAC this year, and this is down year in MAAC.

Wednesday's List of 13, random thoughts on freezing night
                  13) Tony Dungy's decisions as to whether to play his stars in the last three regular season games may be dictated by who they're playing. San Diego is in ***** of playoff hunt, and Seattle is fighting for first-round bye and home field, so Colts owe it to other teams and the league to compete in those games. The finale vs Arizona, though, should be totally up to them, since it is completely meaningless contest.

                  12) Early RPI results for college basketball has the Big 11 Conference leading the way, with Big East second and ACC third. Pac-10 is disappointing 10th right now, but this will change on nightly basis, as more and more games are played.

                  11) Jets are 0-7 on road, 0-7 as road underdog, and have yet to come within ten points in any road game this season, with 27-17 loss at Buffalo, 13-3 setback at Baltimore closest losses.

                  10) In their mostly unfortunate 39 years as an NFL franchise, the Saints are now 0-106 when they trail by 7+ points after three quarters.

                  9) Do people in Arizona put Christmas lights on cactus?

                  8) Bronx baseball team denied C Jorge Posada permission to play in World Baseball Championships this spring, citing wear and tear from catching during regular season.

                  7) Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke's basketball arena, was modeled after the Palestra in Philadelphia, mainly because it was designed by a Penn graduate.

                  6) Teams are 0-8 vs spread this season if they played Dallas the previous week. Underdogs are 0-5 vs spread when they played Rams the previous week.

                  5) All six Baltimore Raven home games have stayed under the total this season.

                  4) Milwaukee Bucks are 5-0 in games decided by three or less points. Helps to have a dead-eye shooter from beyond the arc (Michael Redd)

                  3) Has anyone ever had a 180-degree job security swing quite like the one Mike Tice is having this year? If Vikings make playoffs, he has strong case for NFC Coach of the Year, after being as good as gone in early October.

                  2) Houston Cougars are in top 25 college hoop poll for first time in dozen years, as Tom Penders rebuilds quickly, and has a good team.

                  1) Our first lesson this week, kids, is the quickest way to be fired as an NBA coach is if you don't get along with the star player. Stars have firing power over all NBA coaches, other than those who've won a championship.
