Favorites have been Dominated ( Read This )

I just went thru my schedule since i had time and did some research for myself. After all i've seen so much talk about jumping off the dogs and just start taking the favorites....Well the last two weeks has seen the favorites come in at a high percentage. I can't see this happening every week that trend should change.
I would keep handicapping games as you usually would as i can't remember a season that so many chalks have covered.
I just went back to week 10 and this is what i came up with. My numbers were taken from BetCris at the time of the games that week. So the numbers might be off a bit but this is what i got. I don't think the closing lines and the lines i have just prior to kick off will make a difference.

week 10 8 favorites 6 dogs 7 overs 5 unders 1 push
week 11 7 favorites 9 dogs 9 overs 7 unders
week 12 10 favorites 4 dogs 5 overs 9 unders
week 13 12 favorites 4 dogs 5 overs 11 unders
week 14 ? ? ? ?

37 favorites 23 dogs 26 overs 32 unders 1 push


Now we should also look at those totals. But i think the weather across the nation has caused those numbers to drop. But again its something to look at.
Will it continue? I guess it depends on where these games are at.

Just some food of thought for that brain......


Any thoughts on these numbers guys?

yep this dont suprise me one bit. Last year favs covered more than normal too. Dogs for some reason just arent covering. Its like vegas knows gamblers like to take the points so they either short the points so the fav covers or they post a small # on a game baiting the pub to think taking the dog is smart. IE philly on monday night. That game should have been atleast a 7pt spread yet it was only 3.5.

Thanks SDB -- I was looking at it without the
numbers. I was thinking the same. Still waiting
for those weeks there are 75% dogs covering in the
NFL. (Not this year yet ???) May not happen.

My thoughts. It's football, the injury risk is so great, teams that are out of it, just mail it in at this point. Players aren't gonna risk their careers for a game that means nothing. I don't see any major upsets from here on out. Bengals, Broncos, Seahawks should all win, Chargers too, but the Dolphins are still playing for something, sort of. Unders, because of the weather.

Not to be too picky, but if I understood everything, title of thread should be favorites have been dominant and not dominated;dominated implies favorites have NOT done well and would imply they have been "dominated' by the dogs.
Sorry, but my nature is to point out such things and is only meant constructively.

Stardust- I am just a compulsive guy(like many of us) who when he sees something which doesn't look right(even though in this case everyone understood your point) feels the need to point it out.
I taught 6th grade(all subjects) for one year many moons ago, and it was the worst year of my life;I was too nice a guy;the kids liked me(too much) but I had ZERO respect.
Unlike some sports services, I admit to my shortcomings.

You should have a space before the first parenthesis and after the semi-colon.

Stardust-Believe me if I tried to teach today as opposed to 1967/1968(when I taught), the over/under as to how long I would last would be 1 day and I would take UNDER.
