Thursday's List of 13: NBA, NASCAR, NFL notes........
              13) The Postal Service is in the black for the first time in 30+ years. Of course, there are still two more rate increases in the next two years, but who knew something in our government is actually run efficiently?

              12) Ben Gordon leads Bulls in scoring at 14.8 ppg, the lowest figure of any player who leads his team in scoring. Gordon is not even a starter for the Bulls, he does gets starter minutes.

              11) Four NBA teams are averaging over 100 ppg, led by Suns at 103.3 ppg, even without Amare Stoudemire. Orlando (85.1) and Houston (85.3) are last in league in scoring.

              10) How could team with McGrady and Ming be second-last in NBA in scoring? It makes you wonder...........

              9) Seattle is allowing 104.6 ppg, worst in NBA. Grizzlies (85.5) are leading NBA in scoring defense.

              8) What your opponents shoot from floor is more important defensive stat than points allowed. Clipper foes are shooting just 40.9%, lowest figure in league. Thats why they're better this season, better defense. Toronto (49.1%) and Seattle, at 48.6%, are worst in NBA in that important category.

              7) For the third year in row, 5th-ranked college football club in country is headed to San Diego for Holiday Bowl, which isn't played on New Year's Day. Oregon is this year's disappointed team; the previous two clubs lost in San Diego.

              6) In NASCAR, drivers make 25% of revenues, track owners take in 65% of the money, and NASCAR takes in 10%. There is awful lot of money in stock car racing. How do we know?

              5) In 20 years in NASCAR, Rusty Wallace earned $47 million, that's million, with an M.

              4) If you play the Colts, you better come to play; they scored a TD on their first drive in seven of last eight games, with six of the seven TDs on drives of 72+ yards.

              3) They do better on first drive of second half, scoring a TD on first drive of third quarter in each of their last five games.

              2) Detroit, on other hand, on opponents' first drive of last 3 games, has given up two TDs and FG, with a total of 24 plays by their opponents gaining 241 yards, over 10 yards per play.

              1) If Gary Barnett got fired because Colorado lost 70-3 against Texas in Big 12 title game, then he got fired because Iowa St lost to Kansas the week before. If Cyclones don't blow that game, Colorado doesn't play Texas, and then???? Hmmmmm
