College Football Bowl Plays

I will be putting all of my bowl plays in this one thread.

I am getting these early because I think the lines will be moving up on these games. If they move up far enough I might middle the game.

GMAC Bowl

5* Toledo -2

The Rockets are a well coached team and they have a balanced attack that will give the Miners alot of trouble in this game. Both teams ae 8-3 SU and 4-6 ATS this season. Toledo is avg 34.9 PPG and they are giving up 22.5 PPG while UTEP is avg 33.5 PPG and they are giving up 24.2 PPG. Those are pretty much identical but a small edge to Toledo. Turnover margin is a different story, Toledo is +5 on the year and UTEP is -12 and I feel this gives the Rockets a huge advantage in this game. Toledo will not beat themselves and they will play a very patient and disciplined football game. They are well balanced on offense and here are some stats to back this up. Toledo avg 221 RYPG and 223.5 PYPG, it doesn't get more balanced than that. Utep on the other hand is a throwing team and avg 310.5 PYPG and 131 RYPG (Ebell is out so this will only hurt their running game). Toledo leads in every defensive category and I feel with their running game and ball control offense that they are great play. This is a game that I might have to play more on. Toledo 34-20!!!!!

Las Vegas Bowl

5* Cal -6.5

Cal is taking on BYU in this game and I just feel that the Bears are going to put an AZZ whipping on the Cougars. This line opened up 5.5 and has gone up to 7 now in most places. I think alot people remember what happened to Cal last year vs Texas Tech and I think that will be some added motivation to get that bad bowl taste out of their mouths. Cal is avg 234.7 RYPG and 5.87 RYPA while BYU is avg 157.6 RYPG and 4.43 RYPA. Cal's defense I believe is stronger and they will hold down the Cougars attack in this match-up. Their defense is alowing 121.5 RYPG and 230 PYPG while the Cougars defense allows 139.3 RYPG and 273.1 PYPG. Cal leads in every defensive category except for one and I think this is where they will win this game. Cal will run the ball, control the clock, and have some big plays off of play-action. Cal 42-17!!!!!

Poinsetta Bowl

5* Navy -2.5

Navy is 7-4 SU 8-3 ATS this year and Colo St is 6-5 SU and 5-6 ATS this season. Both teams are wel coached and they both will be ready to play this game. Navy is avg 32.6 PPG and allowing 25.7 PPG while Colo St is avg 26.5 PPG and allowing 28.9 PPG. Navy avg 305 RYPG and a 5.58 RYPA while CSU avg 119.9 RYPG and a 3.42 RYPA. Navy only averages 114 PYPG but they avg 9.22 PYPA while CSU avg 273.2 PYPG and a 8.28 PYPA. Defensively Navy allows 155.8 RYPG and 203 PYPG and CSU allows 200.6 RYPG and 211.6 PYPG. IMO Navy will run the ball very effectively which will keep CSU's offense on the sidelines. They will control this game by having one of their long 14 or 15 play drives that will eat up the clock and by the 4th Quarter the CSU defense will be worn down and the Mid-shipmen will put a couple of long runs in for TD's. They will also have a couple of big plays off of play-action and their defense will do just enough to win the game. Navy 35-24!!!!!

Not a great way to start out the bowl season. The safety cost me both of my plays. I would have pushed my side play and won the under but it didn't happen so on to tomorrow and hopefully a better outcome.

Nice 2-0 +10 units tonight. Toledo led throughout and their balance I believe was the key to their win and their defense was definetly a step up from UTEP's. Time for Cal to care of tomorrow's game and we will be on the positive side.
