  • Detroit should be ashamed of itself!

    Yesterday Bubba Franks of the Packers and Marcus Pollard of the Lions had a friendly charity event to see who could raise more money by ring a bell (I think for the Slavation Army) Bubba was in a Shopping **** in Green Bay and Pollard in downtown Detroit. Bubba won by raising over $5,000 while Pollard could only mustard up a little more then $1,500. Detroit has more then 10 times the people then Green Bay and should have raised at least $30,000. Sorry I just found that to be a little baffling.

      That is because Pollard was in Downtown Detroit. He should have known better. No way he was going to win that contest. :christmas :christmas :christmas

        isn't detroit one of the poorest cities? pollard should have been handing out money, not collecting it.
        1 = $25

          Yes it is. You need to come out to the Subs if your asking for money. That isn't being a smartass either. That is the truth.

            What I dont understand is with NFL players making ridicilous amounts of money...why are they asking us for money? One game check might equal an annual salary for most of us. On top of that Pollard probably carries 1500 in his pocket.

                Homer couldn't be more correct. No money walking around Downtown Detroit, that's dangerous and stupid. Our economy sucks here in Detroit and out in the burbs. Auto industry sucks so everything else is shit as well. Hard times in this state right now.
                GOOD LUCK ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

                  pollard's probably never been to detroit, or he would have known better...they were probably asking him for money...or extra tickets...those guys will tell you anything you want to hear...

                  went to the mac championship game, and a guy approached me asking if i had extra tickets, claiming he and his friends drove up to the game, and didn't have tickets....ok, there were at best 7500 people there...i grilled him, asking where his friends were, and why they came here without tickets, and since i had about 6 extras, i game them to his after he assured me they would be used...they were free, and i wasn't using them, would've thrown them in the garbage...sure enough, looked for he and his friends at the game and they were no where to be found...he was probably pissed at me cause i gave him split up seats (row 10, seat 3, 6, 11, and 14 or something), plus they all said comp tickets on them...not good for resale.
