Season Over
Brian Westbrook has a Lis Franc sprain in his right foot and he will miss the rest of the season.
An MRI revealed that Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook has a Lis Franc sprain in his right foot and he will miss the rest of the season. Westbrook, who recently signed a five-year contract extension, has rushed for 614 yards on 157 attempts while catching 61 passes for 616 yards with a combined seven touchdowns this year. That leaves Philadelphia without its three top offensive weapons for the remainder of the year. Quarterback Donovan McNabb had surgery to correct a sports hernia and wideout Terrell Owens served a suspension and has been deactivated by the team. In their latest setback against Seattle on Monday, a 42-0 thrashing, Westbrook had nine carries for 17 yards and five receptions for 38 yards. He left the contest after the team's first possession with what was originally called a foot sprain, but later returned. It is unknown whether or not the injury requires surgery.
