How about a sleeper????

NEVADA to beat Central Fla by 14. Classic bowl set-up. One team coming off a end of season high (Nevada beating Fresno) and another of a season ending low (UCF losing to Tulsa).

Nevada is the WAC clone of Tulsa. Excellent balance between run (32nd) and pass (29th). UCF not far behind (42nd rush) and (46th pass). UCF had a great turnaround season but they are very young, their better seasons are ahead. Moffett is a nice QB, but seemed to get rattled against Tulsa. Not sure how this group will handle a round the world trip to a bowl game. Coaching is solid with O'Leary (phony resume specialist) but I think he may have trouble keeping the team focused.

Nevada has plenty of experience in Hawaii and the trip will be no new experience for them. Defensively not as good but I believe they faced a tougher schedule. No QB in C-USA is as good as Pinnegar or Zabransky. (Hackney may come close) Pass defense is good enough to handle the job and rush defense is better than UCF. Lock in before the spread reaches NEVADA -3. Wolfpack cruise in this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed in my long years of gambling, that teams in high profile confrences do NOT do well in meaningless bowl games. Teams from mid major confrences getting points will do well in their bowl games. Such as teams like Boise, Fresno St, BYU.....

Teams in the Pac 10 seem to do poorly against these teams as the public like to bet on them more often than not so the line usually goes up. Their motivation is just not there.

In this instance, I like BYU getting +7 against Cal. This is not a very good Cal team and their QB is less than adequate. Plus, the Mormoms love betting and playing in Vegas, JMHO. My only reservation is that Cal coach, Tedford, is an excellant motivator and may have them ready for this game. But I don't see Cal players responding to a 'who cares' bowl game. Just my thought....
