Rome interviewed the program director at ESPN (He's leaving soon). It was about 3 weeks ago. I guess they worked together on that original Rome show. I guess Rome thought that night with Jim Everett was the end of his career. He was told they might axe the T.V. show and his publicist was having trouble trying to line up interviews with any athlete the next day and guys were calling to back out. He said the program director stood by him through it all. No Athletes would go on because they didn't want to show support for him over the athlete or be part of the circus.
It was Al Michaels who agreed to go on the next night with him and Rome said he saved his career. He said Michaels kept telling him to keep positive and they had a great interview on air. After that, Rome said everyone agreed again to do interviews with him and he said at the point the show and his career went on. He said Mr. Michaels pretty much is the one reason he is what he is from that day forward!

I listened today and heard that. I like when he plays the 911 call where the operator asks the mother if they want them to come over and shoot her daughter. He's got some funny shit on tape. Jeff Gordon was HORRIBLE singing for the Cubs. He loves that one too along with Ditka!
