I didn't buy it either but espn's scorecard matched the judges and they seemed to all agree it was judged correctly!

wayne...it was judged dead on.....hopkins won on compubox and taylors face was way more swollen...hopkins laned 101 power shots which was 41 more than taylor, which is usually enough to win, but taylors jab found its mark last night and he was much more active, although he did run out of gas again...funny that in both fights hopkins was in much better shape than the kid.....

Tony, I only put $50 on Taylor. I don't trust Boxing ONE BIT. I was going to put $100 but your posts scared me a little and talked me out of it. I'm really surprised though that Hopkins didn't come out of the gate swinging to Win the match. Espn had Taylor winning like the 1st 5 or 6 rounds!

I thought it was a fair decision, I don't like to see an 'active' fighter missing a ton of shots like taylor did, and I score against that so I had hopkins 7-5, but it wasn't controversial per se, hopkins didn't take apart the champion which is how you're supposed to win the title.

and my hedge worked so it's all good.

i only put $100...i will never bet boxing again...even though i am 11-3....i am sooo turned off by all these PPV fights for $50+....the only ones that were worth it were gatti/ward and corrales recently.........hopkins stated the 1st round would be like the 13th round of the last fight.......but i know hopkins....he always starts this way......he frustrates the hell out of guys and the 2nd half he picks them apart......i really believe much has to do with his age.....it is hard to put your foot on the gas for 4 rounds and then try to go deep in the fight.....we have to remember that hopkins does not have 1 punch knockout power....he is a cumulative puncher......so when he stated his new strategy i questioned it as did emmanual stewart as it did not seem to fit him......but early rounds are money in the bank and he had nothing in the bank...the judges gave him the 1st round (which could have gone either way)...then taylor swept the next 5 and then hopkins roared back only to lose the 11th and win the 12th, but it was not enough.....i could have seen the fight maybe go to a draw, but i have no complaints......

what I saw was, Taylor dominating in the early rounds and Hopkins in the later rounds, we thought that Hopkins may have stolen the fight with the late round flurry....boring fight, no one dropped any real bombs....Taylor definately threw harder shots....I still have the utmost respect for B-Hop he's dodged nobody....just my take !!

Good Luck in the NFL and be careful

hazer...actually hopkins landed the harder shots.....101-60 and the evidence was on both of taylors eyes which were very swollen......taylors punches were mostly what are called shoeshine (flurries to the body) which are look great for the judges but do no damage....the fact is the jab won him the fight......the noise you hear mostly when taylor throws punches is hopkins blocking most with his gloves...he is very adept at that and his awkward leg style gives him an off-balance appearance and when pushed he goes back much further......even in the first fight when the "so called shot" that taylor put him on the ropes, turned out to be on the shoulder and with hopkins legs tangled sent him backwards.....1 thing i will say about hopkins...he is cagey and i have never seen anyone starch him flush and i ever wobbled
